InFocus X2 Review

InFocus X2 Multimedia DLP Projector

InFocus X2InFocus X2 is a dual-duty digital projector that shines during the workday and on into an entertaining evening. InFocus X2 marks the spot where valuable business tools and thrilling entertainment options converge into a projector of exceptional quality for at work and beyond.

The X2 relies on DLP, or digital imaging, technology from Texas Instruments. DLP is entirely digital, which means that you'll never experience image degradation or "yellowing"--better known as color decay--that other imaging technologies experience over time. Projectors based on DLP technology are fully compatible with digital signals--with no analog conversion necessary--making them compatible with everything from digital cameras to gaming consoles. The Digital Micromirror Device that forms the heart of DLP technology is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, giving DLP the advantage of being extremely portable for a wide range of uses.

BenQ PE7700 Review

BenQ PE7700 - DLP projector
1100 ANSI lumens - 1280 x 720 - High Definition

Benq PE7700 Projector
The PE7700 is a strong, mid-range unit for home theater enthusiasts who desire a high standard of image quality. The PE7700 home theater projector features BenQ's proprietary Senseye technology. Senseye digital-enhancement technology automatically and dynamically improves image quality, adjusts brightness and darkness levels, performs color-mapping procedures, and reduces jagged edges on images. Senseye also adjusts contrast, color and sharpness settings, which significantly enhances the display of pictures and graphics-intensive applications such as gaming, digital photos, entertainment and professional multimedia presentations.

This home theater digital projector is designed for long-lasting operation and provides consistent image quality. The BenQ PE7700 utilizes proprietary BenQ video-processing technology to support the latest DLP chip set from Texas Instruments. The DLP chipsets produce flawless pictures that won't fade or degrade over time.

While separate projectors and screens are not for everyone, for many of us they define the essence of the true home theater video experience. A big-screen television is fine as far as it goes, and certainly appeals to a wide market. But nothing quite matches the thrill of watching a theater-like image on a really big screen in a darkened room.

Sanyo PLV Z4 Review

Sanyo PLV Z4 - LCD Projector

Sanyo PLV Z4
The PLV-Z4 offers a permanent reproduction of the three primary colours, like in natural light, resulting in images that are closest to those perceived by the human eye and making them wonderful to watch. With 3LCD technology, the image is reconstituted inside of the projector offering a great deal of stability and avoiding a 'rainbow effect.'

The PLV-Z4 is equipped with two irises. The first, situated directly in front of the lamp, automatically controls the contrast of the image. The second, in front of the lens, has a permanent menu that allows the user to adjust the controls to his liking. It also allows for the control of luminosity with 7 presets and 64 variations possible. The contrast is therefore capable of being optimised for any situation, up to 7000:1! Decidedly looking towards the future, the PLV-Z4 has an HDMI interface, which will allow it to handle all image signals with one cable, and without compression or loss of quality. It also has other standard connections.

NEC LT10 Review

NEC LT10 Portable DLP Projector
NEC LT10 projectorNEC LT10 is the most portable lightweight projector with just over 2 pounds on weight. It is the smallest and most compact XGA projectors available for on-the-fly presentations.

Transporting the LT10 is easy (total travel weight with soft case, remote, and cables is 3.5 pounds), and setting it up is simple, thanks largely to its manual zoom lens, which gives you more leeway in positioning the projector in a given space. At a distance of about 10 feet from the screen, the LT10's 7-foot-diagonal image looked impressive in a room with low ambient lighting. The handy remote includes easy-to-use controls for keystone (geometric distortion) adjustment and other functions, but it lacks a mouse control and a laser pointer. The LT10 also comes without speakers, so you'll need to use a separate sound system for a movie or multimedia show.
